Nestled in the hills of Siena in the heart of the land of the Etruscans, a land of great wines, where nature is still pristine and the rolling landscape is like a work of art.
Each variety is aged separately in the most appropriate format the Sangiovese and the Pugnitello in big barrels, the Syrah in tonneaux, the Merlot, the Cabernet and Petit Verdot in barriques for about 12 months.
In the area of Sarteano, particularly suitable for the production of quality wines, vineyards were planted since ancient times, as evidenced by the ancient map of 1800 found by the Olivi family at the State Archives of Siena, where the vineyards were already existent. More specifically in the area named “Le Buche” from which derives the name of our estate.
Our job is to make wine. Our wine has in itself a history and a philosophy, the one of Giuseppe and Riccardo Olivi, and a territory expression; ours hardly leaves indifferent. Our work is our mission: to give you a pleasure, in a glass.
There are not many companies that have resumed the cultivation of the Pugnitello vine but, at Le Buche, we are convinced that it is important to keep this traditional Tuscan variety alive and we have decided to produce a wine in purity. Our Pugnitello is a particular wine with great personality, with an intense color and a strong territorial imprint.
We produce an extra virgin olive oil with DOP certification, all the stages from cultivation, to harvesting, to processing in the company oil mill are managed internally by our company.
